In South America, love is part of the everyday street scene like traffic lights and park benches. Shyness is considered an exotic disease that hardly anyone is affected by. Because conservative values also rule out retreat into the private sphere, lovers live out their intimacy on the street, in parks, on stairs and in cafés, and everyone is allowed to watch. As a photographer, you inevitably become a voyeur. But where nobody is shy, nobody feels disturbed by it.
